Hamm

I should of done this a long time ago.

Be prepared for me to geek/girly out. This might get out of hand.

I have this huge fascination/attraction to Jon Hamm. And it's not huge in the sense that I've followed his life and know every odd fact about him. I actually don't know a whole lot at all, aside from his relationship with his girlfriend and the roles he has played. This thing I have is more of an instant reaction every time I see him, which is actually kind of hard to disguise at times.

There's a whole range of things to be included in this discussion. I'll start with his major role. Mad Men. Men. Men. Men. I really think he is the ultimate appeal of the show for me. I know the show is incredible and I really want to envelop myself in it. I've only seen a couple episodes sadly, but that will soon enough change. I will talk more about the attraction/appeal of it later. Another thing I saw him on was the Real Time with Bill Maher show while I was visiting California last fall [you can find clips of it on Youtube]. My boyfriend at the time and I were watching the show in our hotel room. There were 3 guests on the show and they were discussing a current political topic of the Tea Party and such. Two of the guests were active in some sort of political realm and then there was Jon Hamm. He didn't talk as much as the others but when he did he did a great job. It was the first I had seen him on any talk show and to me he sounded as if he had an accent. I then asked my boyfriend if he did and he responded with that he did not but he is a very well spoken man. This further adds to my attraction to him. Well spoken and intelligent.

Another role and side story is his small appearance in the recent blockbuster Sucker Punch. A very close friend of mine, who is well aware of my attraction to him, saw Sucker Punch a couple days before I did. When we got together and discussed the film after I had seen it, Hamm obviously came up in conversation. When she first saw him she literally giggled out loud and thought of me. She knew I would be excited when I saw the movie. I had not known he was in it and when I saw the film it was a nice surprise. The funniest thing about it is, despite my not knowing he was in it, you first see the back of his head before you ever see his face and I instantly knew it was him. I'm proud of myself on that one. Not to mention that this same friend of mine is throwing a 50's style cocktail party next month that we have been talking about for quite some time.

I will have to get all into the appeal of Mad Men some other time, especially after I start watching more of it.

So what's so attractive about Jon Hamm? Hmm...well, everything. Every goddamn thing. I'm going to be superficial and only talk about his physical qualities for now. Just keep in mind that there is more that I like about him that are beyond physical attributes, a couple things I already mentioned. But this is what I feel like getting into at the moment.

He's tall, proportional, well built. Not overly skinny nor buff. Looks fucking fantastic in a suit. He's 40 years old, which the 40's seem to be a great age for men in my opinion. He can pull off being clean shaven and having a full beard and anything in between. Both of which don't alter my attraction either way, but merely add to it. His hair is gorgeous and somewhat long, which is one of my favorite things. It always looks perfect. From what I can tell, his hands are very nice, large, and not overly masculine or thick. He has this look on his face that is rarely ever unattractive. He has this serious and almost brooding look. When he does smile, it lights up his face. He awesomely pulls off the black thick rimmed glasses. He has nice teeth. He has that lethal combination of dark hair and light eyes. A good shaped nose. A nicely defined jaw line, with a projecting chin. His thick eyebrows suit his expressive eyes. He's all around sexy.

He has all the qualities of what would make up a "typical man". And I find that extremely attractive. I may be bisexual and I actually don't really care too much what you look like or where you are on the masculine/feminine spectrum, I do appreciate all of it. So I'm not saying that manly mans are what I prefer, that I do like them and nearly anything else.

I'm sure there's more I could add to the list the more I experience his works.
