Texture and Texts

Deactivated my dating site profile, again. Feels liberating. It's honestly really annoying how many stupid messages I get a day. I spend all this time writing a long profound description and answer over a thousand questions only to get:

"Hey, what's up?"
"My name is....., you're pretty cool, I'd like to get to know you better."
"I want to fuck you."

And various other messages with bad grammar and what not. A lot of them involve the guy trying to sell himself to me, which I find to be the utmost annoying types of messages because I  will decide if you're worthy from your profile and will take it upon myself to message you if you are. I don't want to describe, even more, how much and how easily people irritate me in the digital world, but it never ends.

I did communicate with one cool individual. We exchanged numbers and will see how it goes in the future.

I'm eagerly awaiting the next school year to start in a little over 2 weeks. I'm starting to miss my students and look forward to a break from the kids I've been watching over the summer. I most of all look forward to getting off work in the early afternoon again. This will allow me to have more personal time to do things like laundry and more painting.

I started painting again the last couple of nights. I'm simultaneously working on 3 paintings. One that I'm finally finishing after a few years that is pretty cool. Another one that I've worked on for a couple of years but still has a lot left to be done. And one more that I just started for fun. It's a practice thing for a t-shirt or pants that I'm going to paint eventually. Due to my activity on Pinerest, I've been trying to revamp my creative side.

In other news, I've been reading A LOT. Since before the summer started I've read several books, The Hunger Games trilogy, 50 Shades of Grey trilogy, Neil Gaiman's American Gods, Nicholas Sparks' A Walk to Remember, rereading Ray Bradbury's Fahrenheit 451, attempting C.S. Lewis' A Grief Observed, Sheril Kirshenbaum's The Science of Kissing, and I'm soon to finally start Richard Matheson's What Dreams May Come. I feel like I may be leaving one other out and soon I shall write more about the individual books. It's been really nice. I even notice the slight expansion of my vocabulary and changes in the way I talk and write. This is one of the many things that I love about reading. It saddens me so much when people don't read or appreciate it. In any potential partner, this is a trait that I most value. I like movie buffs, but if they don't read, I'll be a bit disappointed surely.
