Dreamt of living in a different house again. With multiple people and in a bad neighborhood. I'm going to try not to describe this that much. But It was similar to my friend's townhouse again, but far more rooms because her family, me and my mom, and a bunch of young orphans lived with us. The interesting thing is that the orphans were African American too. It was night time, I remember that most people were out of the house and I went upstairs to my room where one of the little boys came in. I was trying to bring down the blinds and close the curtains to the many and very tall windows in my room. I ended up getting the boy to help me, which made us bond a little bit since he is really shy. At some point I walked or stood in some place where I could see that we were about to get robbed. There were two kids that used some sort of mechanism to saw out a hole in the window of the house on the second floor that was facing the next building. I could tell, or knew somehow, that these boys have been making their rounds along the neighborhood. They were hanging off of something that allowed them to be up at the second floor. They didn't see me. I made an announcement that we're going to get robbed. I think the boy had a safer place to go, but he disappeared and then there was my friend's younger sister that was somewhere downstairs. I grabbed my purse to get my cell phone and nervously tried calling my friend's mom. I was having issues dialing the right numbers. I'm still on the phone and I hide my purse under my bed and I just leave the house immediately. I finally called the right number as I was in the bedroom/place of the woman I was calling. It was empty besides one man who she may have been dating. I'm trying to tell him that we're being robbed but nothing is coming from it. As the call goes through a man answers and he is being difficult and asks me my name and who am I. I'm walking around the place and looking out the windows/balconies as I'm talking. One balcony had three mattresses sitting on the edge. A larger mattress was on top and in my mind this meant no good and it wasn't right so I kicked off the top mattress to the ground below. After I did that I realized there were some men standing out there who just gave me a sour look. Just after I told the guy on the phone what I was doing and that I called the woman's number and got to him, I peaked out the other balcony and saw the very man I was talking to on the phone. He then realized I was who I told him I was and we hung up the phone. The next scene I remember involved me walking back. But I was in which similarly resembled an area not so far from my house in real life. I was on the streets and walking through some little get together thing amongst a large group of guys. By this time I'm on the phone with my mom and trying to tell her what happened. Because I was outside and all these guys were around with music and what not, I couldn't hear a thing. I kept walking away from them but some of them were walking too. They were doing their own thing, it had nothing to do with me, but it was following me to some extent. I got really frustrated and yelled at the top of my lungs for them to "shut the fuck upppppp!!" It didn't help so much but I finally got away from them. Then I woke up.
Key things: New house, my mom, a young boy, being robbed, talking on the phone to my mom, and not being able to hear.
Obviously, it's still an ongoing thought in my head that I want to move out.
Recent developments with my mom has been causing more contact with her in recent weeks, therefore she shows up in my dreams.
Although there were apparently several kids [maybe all boys] that were orphans in my dream, I only saw one boy. It only adds to the growing tally of the frequency of appearances of young boys in my dreams.
Being robbed/mugged is one of my biggest fears. I used to obsess about this when I was a kid, which is further amplified by my lack of hearing. And I had several dreams where it occurred. Although a robbery still took place in this dream, I wasn't actually there for it nor came into contact with the robbers, which is different from my usual robbery dreams.
On top of my mom being in the dream, talking to her on the phone is something I've dreamt before. I'm hardly on the phone in my waking life, and very rarely on the phone in my dreams. So it is significant to some degree. Even more so because it's with my mom. I remember vividly an old dream I had of my mom and her voice sounded so perfectly like her. The same worry and nurturing voice came about because I was about to die in the dream. She didn't say much, but it was powerful. So I am reminded of that.
Finally, the fact that I couldn't hear well on the phone was interesting. That may be totally regular in my life, but my hearing is not something that is ever really brought up in my dreams. Every now and then the hearing aids or my not being able to hear something or even silence comes into play. But not nearly as often as one may think.
Here's a couple interpretations from my usual source, dreammoods.
To dream that you are a thief, suggests that you are afraid of losing what you have. Perhaps you feel that you are undeserving of the things you already have. Alternatively, to dream that you are a thief indicates that you are overstepping your boundaries in some situation or relationship.
To dream that you are a witness to a theft or a victim of theft, indicates that someone is wasting your time and/or stealing your energy and ideas. Perhaps you
feel robbed in some way.
To see a window in your dream, signifies bright hopes, vast possibilities and insight. If the window of a house is dark, then it indicates a loss to your perception or vitality. To see a tinted window in your dream, represents your need for privacy. You are keeping some aspects of yourself hidden. You also want to remain ambiguous. To dream that you are washing windows, suggest that you need some clarity in some matter. Something is not clear. To dream that you are entering or exiting through a window, suggests that you are involved in some secretive or underhanded activity. Alternatively, the dream means that you are creating your own opportunities. You make things happen instead of waiting for them to happen.
To dream that you are looking out the window, signifies your outlook on life, your consciousness and your point of view. It also refers to your intuition and awareness. You may be reflecting on a decision. Or you need to go out into the larger world and experience life. If you are looking in the window, then it indicates that you are doing some soul searching and looking within yourself. It is time for some introspection. To see another face in the window in your dream, suggests that you are feeling emotionally distant and physically detached. Also consider the emotion depicted on the face.
To see an orphan in your dream, signifies fears of abandonment. You feel lonely and rejected.
To see or use a cell phone in your dream, indicates that you are being receptive to new information. It also represents your mobility. Alternatively, the dream signifies lack of understanding. Perhaps you are having difficulties getting through to someone.
To see a phone number in your dream, suggests that you need to make contact with someone or reach out for help.
To dream that you cannot remember or find a phone number, means that you need to start being more independent and responsible.
To dream that you cannot dial a phone number correctly, suggests that you are having difficulties in getting through to someone in your waking life. Consider whose phone number you are trying to dial. Perhaps he or she is not taking your advice or listening to what you have to say. The message is not getting through.
To dream that you are having a telephone conversation with someone your know, signifies an issue that you need to confront with that person. This issue may have to do with letting go some part of yourself. If you are put on hold, then the dream is a metaphor for being taken for granted or being unable to freely express yourself.

Very cool post. I'm trying real hard to master reading clues in dreams to be aware that I'm dreaming so that I can manipulate them. I've often had the vision of not being able to do simple stuff like dial a phone. usually that's a giveaway that you're dreaming. I just keep forgetting. Oh Well!
I'll keep trying.
