Bioethics Film List

My bioethics in film [honed in on organ transplantation] class officially meets this Thursday which is one of the only 6 meetings we will have throughout the semester. The first meeting will only be an introduction to the class, so no films. However the film list for this semester involves:
The Harvest Project
Seven Pounds
A Christmas Tale
My Sister's Keeper
I'm extremely excited to get to watch these emotional films. The Harvest Project seems interesting and I have not yet seen it. Seven Pounds, a film I have seen and have been direly wanting to see again, will be incredibly fascinating to write about and discuss. If you see the most previous link you will notice that I actually didn't write anything about the film itself. I did that for a reason considering that when I did see the film I did not know too much about it at all which made the experience all the more impacting. It truly is a deep film. I really don't want to give away any more than that. A Christmas Tale, I have not seen, but based off the brief description I am excited to see. And finally My Sister's Keeper, well I recently read about it and really want to see it [and read the book], so I'm glad to have the opportunity. This is the class that I had to ask for permission from the instructor to enroll in and was exposed to me by an acquaintance. However, while she was enrolled in the class, during the previous spring semester, they focused on issues of death and dying, which is initially why this girl told me about this class. She knew I would be interested. And I love that I am thought of when it comes to death and dying. But I was able to get the syllabus from her and during that term the films they watched were:
Marvin's Room
Ososhiki
The Sea Inside
Wit
I have not seen any of these films but definitely plan on it. The only one that I was previously aware of was The Sea Inside which stars one of my favorite actors, Javier Bardem.
