I'm so damn excited for Puscifer in a few weeks! I just read an article about all the fun that will be happening on tour. Oh yes!
And happy birthday to Scorpios Jack Osbourne, Bram Stoker, Bonnie Raitt, Christie Hefner, and Tara Reid.
I finally finished reading Perfume last night. I've read and reread the last lines several times now. Man, I love that book! I always have this high anticipation for the endings of literature. If I feel I am not in the right mood or fully engrossed in the reading at that moment and nearing the end, I will save the end for another time. Because I want the full effect of it, and nothing less. I want it to make me cry, to make me smile, make me think, to give me goosebumps. I want it all. I can say Perfume satisfied that. There are extra major events that were never shown in the film but still, for the most part, the film is insanely good and accurate. Especially since reading this and thinking of the film does not annoy me or make me angry. So that's good. It's not another case of I Am Legend, which has probably the most amazing ending I've ever enjoyed. To me, at least. I'm pretty sure had I never seen the film Perfume, the novel would be more shocking.
"Odors have a power of persuasion stronger than that of words, appearances, emotions, or will. The persuasive power of an odor cannot be fended off, it enters into us like breath into our lungs, it fills us up, imbues us totally. There is no remedy for it."
