Labor

I can't remember the last Labor Day where I did not partake in any labor. As long as I have been in the working world, I've always worked Labor Day. Which is especially saddening today because there is a marathon of Dirty Jobs.
Yesterday was Father's Day in Australia.

Inspiration from Lefties:
"The obscure we see eventually. The completely obvious, it seems, takes longer." -Edward R. Murrow
The Valley Ho is amazing, I want to live there. There rooms have to be like those right out of an IKEA catalog. Ahhhhmazing.

Yesterday I decided to escape my homework duties and go to Bookmans to use some of my credit. I bought Diane Ackerman's A Natural History of Love, David Sedaris' When You are Engulfed in Flames, and the film Perfume: The Story of a Murderer, which book I was actually trying to find. The movie is pretty interesting. I saw it in an independent film theater years ago and all I could do was inhale deeply in attempts to smell what he was smelling. I failed only to spell the musk of all the old people in the theater. I appreciate the film very much and I'm excited to watch it again.

Last night was pretty epic. Girls night with a couple bottles of wine, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, awesome conversations and washable markers. My hands and arms are stained with colors. I wanted to draw on my friend's leg with a sharpie but instead she whipped out her large collection of washable markers and an hour later she has original art by me on her leg and back, then I did the same to my other friend. They continuously pushed the idea of me being a tattoo artist while I blushed in flattery and uncertainty. I had an amazing time doing that and it is such an intimate sensual thing I can see why people enjoy tattooing. I'll have to talk to some friends who do it. Luckily we have proof, a few of appropriate ones which I'll share.
Markers a definitely a good investment. Off to work!
