Reading back on the posts of the current page, most of my wording, my attitude, grammar, etc. seems almost elementary if read by an outsider. When I use the term outsider, I mean someone who doesn't regularly read Alchemy. This blog has been around for quite awhile and I've definitely begun a habit for writing towards my audience. I, however, may not know my entire audience, but I do have a general sense in the locations, how they stepped upon the site, and how much time they spend on it. I have now started to really write in terms of people that are used to my writing. Whether they live across the world, or only less than ten miles from me. Those are my regulars. People who know me really well personally, and those in other parts of the world that read this blog often enough.
My sentences can seem short, or immature, but that's far from what is being intended. That's what's hard if you have a diverse audience. But then again, that's the Internet for you. I have all those people as mentioned above, then I have several newcomers that come across my blog for whatever spontaneous and possibly brief reason, so the impression is extremely diverse. This is difficult as a blog writer who wishes to appeal on a larger scale, yet has no interests whatsoever to be broad and completely impersonal. It's not part of my personality, at all.
I guess this would serve as a post of some sort of precaution: "Hey! Don't assume everything you read directly connotes to the personality of who is writing it. You don't know shit!" Obviously, that doesn't even work, because for the most part it is simply not true. Plain and simple, my posts vary in terms of shallowness in good fun to deep provocative thoughts that permeate my mind daily. This mirrors my personality. I'm very good at blending with the crowd in terms of conversation and mood. I'm broad, and I love it. But all my words are my words exactly. The key is how someone perceives them. People can read all this "stuff" and instantly conclude I'm some kind of idiot. Or they can read a little, or a hell of a lot more and realize there is a trend in how I use words, structure sentences, input punctuation, etc. that implies far more. I guess my main point would be, this is a very personal blog. And no place for someone to instantly make judgements upon with just experiencing a single post.
You can't take things for granted, put more effort into it.
