Just Say So

To forewarn you, this could be what you consider an 'emo' post. It's something I've been wanting to do for awhile. The desire has been increasing, today the mood has set me to do it, but in a different fashion than originally intended.

I wanted to post lines of lyrics that have some meaning to me. Some significance. Something that continuously repeats in my mind. Some that I just find really romantic, something that I've experienced or crave to experience or want someone else to feel for me. And if I feel like being a little less cryptic, I may add some commentary.

I actually like a majority of the lyrics to this song, however the chorus stand out to me the most. The sentiment of that line is so simple yet beyond that initial processing, it is so complex. The simplicity of such a simple task is what appeals to me. I will be very vague of my earlier reaction to this song, this line, but it did apply to something to me. Something I actually would like to say out loud to someone.

You want to love me, underneath it all.

Originally, before I finally found out who sang this song, and the actual lyrics, I always thought the line was "Do you really love me, underneath it all" rather than "You're really lovely, underneath it all." My mistaken line was what I liked about the song. Made it something I wanted, craved. At the same time, it made me curious about the artist. It is something everyone wants. To be loved for who they really are, all they are. It's something I think is really hard to fine, especially for it to be on both sides of the relationship.

This line is so strong to me, that is all I will say.

Go ahead, say it, it's one of the girly songs. Regardless, it's one that will forever mean something to me...

In everyone's life there is someone, multiple people in their lives, past and present, lovers and friends and family members, that haunt them. Hearing about them, seeing them, etc. It brings upon unpleasant memories. All of which eventually do go away, but sometimes it takes damn near forever.

And it's been a while but I can still remember just the way you taste.

These lines always exist in my mind.

This sentiment extends to every single person I have ever known, that has been of any significance in my life. I'll never forget you.

I discovered this band in the wonderful film Once. All the music throughout that film is amazing. This song, this line particularly, stands out to me. It's another one of those simple lines, makes so much sense in all its simplicity.

I, without a doubt, love all the lyrics to this song. But when those lines are sung, they always touch me.
