Your Mom Goes to College!

Today is the first day of class. I've attended two of the three on campus classes thus far. Principles of Linguistics, taught by an older man who has quite some humor/sarcasm whom I already know I will like. He may be gay or just speak and use flamboyant gestures, it makes him more interesting, to me. We spent the hour talking about phonetics and repeating sounds that made the whole class sound like a group of birds squawking or whatever correct terminology you would insert there. It was rather funny, and something we obviously will have to get used to. I'm extremely relieved to know what kind of work we will be doing in this class because this is the highest upper level class I have taken so far. This class was something I was a bit worried about before, I thought it would be hard, but I don't think so anymore.
After that was Principles of Archaeology, just another archaeology class taught by another grad student. These are usually the boring classes although the topics are interesting, especially today's lecture about the Maya. I'm gonna have to look into their death and afterlife practices, I'm interested.
Next class starts in an hour, Pleistocene Archaeology, another archaeology class. I'm not too worried about it.
In fact, I'm not too worried about the semester, which is great! Usually fall semesters can be a bit hard for me, transitioning from that long lazy unstimulating summer into a crazy heavy course load. Summer classes definitely helped, that's for sure. My final class this semester is an online women studies class which actually doesn't start til October. That will be my fun class, I'm excited.

I went to get some pizza on Mill Ave and wasted some time at Urban Outfitters only to find a million things I want to buy there. They're fucking expensive. Cups and flasks that say "Douchebag"!! And most importantly this shirt, pictured on Zach Galifianakis in the Hangover is sold at Urban Outfitters. I don't shop there really ever but I knew that that would be the place to have it. I laughed to myself when I saw it, it's quite amusing.
