I also wanted to mention something about my art. A friend of mine has told me how much my art and style has changed from beginning to current. It's definitely true. All my old work contains eyes, but that is mostly due to the fact that that was my "concentration" for projects in high school. Whereas now, I've expanded past eyes. However, I've been thinking about it more and realized that my direction and my life has changed a lot, hence is reflected in my art. Most of my eye related art in high school had no true emotional meaning or story behind them. The only story was that I've been obsessed with eyes since I could use my own, mostly due to my lack of hearing and living and surviving in the visual world. So now, my art has more meaning, stories, and messages behind them. My source of inspiration continues to be the same, usually literature, film, some music, and just language, words, phrases. Literature is the strongest. I usually write down words or phrases that strike out to me, and then create a piece to go with them. I very much am fond of art and songs that have astonishing and even controversial titles. Anything that provokes thought and emotion and may cause for the delayed light bulb effect. So, my inspiration is still the same, but now without the boundaries of school, I've finally created pieces that go with those ideas that I've had for possibly a few years beforehand. And of course, my skill has improved along with my number of supplies.
I am currently finishing a small piece in which the background has been painted for over a year or so. I originally had an idea for the foreground, but changed it completely the other night. It'll be done soon, and up on here. After that, I'm not sure what I'll have the time to do or if it will be delayed until winter break. I am definitely disappointed that I could not paint more this summer. However, my pace has been faster than it ever has been. I seriously have an overwhelming number of ideas and my supplies keep multiplying as my time is subtracting. It's frustrating.
